Hi guys!
.. and welcome from the Sunshine State.
In August, my son (his first bike) wants to follow my yearly crossing the country round trip from S. FL to N. CA. and back.
You guys are welcome to tag along partially or one way, if you want to.
I don't ride fast either, maximum is 70 MPH. :)
I have not decided what route I will take to get to CA from FL yet, but if you check back, then you will see.
Ride safe and have fun!
Nick

Robert, thanks for the reply. ><
I do not do rain or night either. If caught in a rainstorm I'll go through it slowly or wait under a bridge till it passes. I am a slow rider and have no intention of setting speed records so if I see something that might be interesting I will stop. For me, it's about the journey more than the destination.
I'll be sure to give you a holler if I'm in your neck of the woods.

my name is Robert and I"m 61 years old and looking to start doing some long distant rides . I have been riding sense I was 18 but have never been coast to coast.I don"t like riding in the rain much nor do I like riding late at night .But if you ever do find someone to ride towards the west coast I would lone to meet up and tag alone

First Trip / In search of another rider for long distance touring
« Last post by philippe721 on November 07, 2017, 11:16:52 PM »
I am a retired, mature and safe rider based in Atlanta, GA. I am looking for another rider to do some long-distance touring. There is a definite possibility for a West Coast in May 2018
I guess for convenience sake you should be based no further than 200 miles from me. Anyone interested can respond to this thread or email me.(my email address is in my profile).

Welcome from Florida!
Nick

Thanks for the welcome. I think I might do a winter trip down to Florida or Texas maybe in January or February before attempting the big one.
Would it be proper forum protocol to start a thread about possible trips to see if anyone else is interested in joining? Should I post under "First Trip"?

o-:-h...... I am a lifelong rider. Have been retired for four years and planning a coast to coast trip. As far as long distance goes, so far I have done two 2000-mile trips. One was Georgia/Michigan, the other Georgia/New York. I joined this site to get all sorts of valuable information and possibly meet other riders, from my side of the country, that are looking to do a coast-to-coast as I do not want to do it alone.
I am in Atlanta and my ride is a 2008 Kawasaki Nomad 1600
