Welcome Venk!
That would be an awesome trip.
I have been crossing every year from FL to CA, and I have one 1 month of vacation.
With 2 month period, you can make many stop along the road to enjoy the beauty of this country.
Are you gong to hotel or camp along the road?
June is always the best month to cross the country. As it is not too cold and too hot, but you will eventually run into rain and cold and heat.
Bring a rain suit for sure.
About your bike, do the best maintenance and have a new set of tires for the insurance. ;)
Let us know.
Good luck and have fun!

Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member and have been contemplating riding NY to SF and back for many years.  I have 2 months to spare and am thinking of starting this in the next few days.  I'm thinking of taking the route via  PA route 6 to Chicago and up to Minneapolis and west following the route in Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance.  Return trip plan was to take the central or southern route.  The thing that worries me the most are not finding places to stay,  weather and bike issues popping up.   I know all can be overcome, though hearing some stories and words from people who have done it would be reassuring.

Good looking set up

Thought you'd like to know.  I have Bill's Steppenwolf shirt on and I am going for a bike ride!  It's been a long time since this shirt has had some fresh air blowing on it...  I registered on here to finally read up on some of his posts over the years.  He's always talked about it here... Gave me links to read stuff, some of which never worked.  lol  Most of the time I really didn't have the time to read long winded posts that he seemed to ramble on...  I look forward to the solace of seeing my friend on here while he is missing in person... Bill was a good hearted guy.  Time for a ride!

Welcome from Florida, Bill!
That will be an awesome trip there.
I wish I have some experience on this part of the country, but I don't.
Crossing Canada from East to West is one of the trips in my my wish list for sure. :pr:
Hopefully, someone will chime to share some experience with us.

I'm thinking on doing my first trip from Michigan across into Canada and up to Montreal and further maybe on my 71 BSA motorcycle. Just wondering what documentation I need for crossing the border? I'm planning to put the bike on my pickup as far as London then leave on the bike from London. I'm also planning to drop off a few spare parts for my friends old Norton. Anyone see any problems doing this?

Yuppers I found your rv right here.

I will be in Deschler OH tomorrow after I vote and some where east of there if I can find the campground I want next to the tracks.
