Touring now.

  • I came on vacation to my family in  Virginia. A friend of a friend was selling a 2001 Honda Shadow 1100. I liked the bike and bought it  with the idea of taking a tour. I then purchased items I would need for my trip. My first thoughts were to ride the' Blue Ridge Skyline' (469 miles) then I found ' The Tail of the Dragon'. A plan came together. I am now on my 19th state plus a visit to Canada and still riding 4000 miles +. I will add more info as computer battery and time allows. Safe riding, Paul

  • Greetings to all,

I recently found your site and must say I am quite happy with it.  I have been riding off and on for over 4O years and currently ride an '11 Road Glide Ultra.   I am within 2 years of full retirement and have started my planning for a cross country jaunt.  Hoping to pick up some good tips, ideas and planning strategies from the members of this site.  Again, happy to be here and wishing everyone a safe ride.  Socacom

    Welcome to the group!
That will be great to retire, own a motorcycle and have a plan to ride!
After 40 years of riding, you probably have an idea where you want to ride and how long, so let everyone know when, where and what is your plan, and we can chime in to have fun!
I am not too far from you, so maybe, I will run into you some where. :)
    How about Sturgis in August?
    Thanks for checking in!

  • Nomad,

Sorry for the late response, I'll been out of town for work.  I will not be making Sturgis this year but certainly would love to ride along with you in spirit.  I am sure we will cross paths here is S. Florida, if we haven't already and just don't know it.  I will keep a look out for your ride.  Photo of mine soon.
