Our usual ride; Indy to Utah and back

  • I do a ride to Utah 2-3 times per year. The trip varies a bit from time to time as do the people that go with me. But it's always fun.

The worst part of the ride is getting form Indy to Denver. 1,000 miles of flatness and boredom interrupted by nasty storms...

On this trip, my buddy Craig from Detroit came along, riding my old ST....

We meet up with our friend Neil somewhere in Missouri. Neil is from Chicago and his tour bikes is an ST1300. We sure seem to spend a lot of time hanging out in gas station parking lots for some reason...

    So do other bikers...

We try to knock out the Indy to Denver portion in one day, so there's lots of riding in the dark...

and dining only in the finest eateries...

  • And more thunderstorms...

But it's worth it when we get to Idaho Springs and hit up Beaujo's Pizza for chow...

  • Our first night's stay is at the Marriott in Vail, CO.
Nice place and you can walk or get a shuttle bus to everywhere in town....

    Nice views out our window...

  • We walk around the village, checking out the ski slopes and shops until we find someplace that has beer...

  • The next day and we're finally off of the interstate on off on some better roads. Quick stop in Leadville, CO for breakfast...

Like I said before; nothing but the finest eateries fort us. Neil wails on some waffles of some sort...

While I partake of a more manly meal of a breakfast burrito...

It's good now, but I know that I, and those around me, will be paying the price later.
