when towing with 4 wheels i understand the physics of it but what happens when your cornering and tilting the bike over which a car doesn't do, how does it all stay connected?

I guess you've never seen a hitch.  Go to any hardware stores, in auto section, and you can see how the hitch works,
You'll figure it out!  LOL :-X

A more important question to me is: how does a trailer affect the handling of a bike?
  • Are there suggested limitations on speed in a straight line and especially, cornering?
  • Do trailers affect the line one takes into a corner?
  • Is there a recommended braking technique?
  • Generally, what to watch out for?
Cheers

...then I will try to give my 2 cents! :)
  • No, there is no speed limitation on straight line.  As long as you comfortable with the movement.
  • Yes, the trailer always tries to move forward in the existing direction.
  • It depends on many factors, such as the trailer's weight, the bike's weight, ABS brakes, and brakes on trailer by itself.  In addition, you are moving in a straight line, or making a turn.  My best recommend is keep the distance, take the control of the bike, and the pushing force from the trailer.
  • Watch for pot holes, sudden stop from the other vehicles (keep the distance).  It takes more time to stop.
Of course, this is just my personal experience, so there are many better ideas, and information out there.
Hope this help some how.

This was taken at Deals Gap last August.  A few days later we were riding Rt 16 up to Tazwell VA (Hungry Mother State Park).

The Aluma trailer handled the twisties just fine.

Great pic, although at what appears to be a relatively modest angle of lean the GW is not showing much ground clearance. Or is it just the photo?

Very respectable trailer. Plenty of room for not just the wife's hairdryer, but a whole hair salon!

Way things are shaping up, I think I will have a trailer hitched to the bike.
