Could you please tell how you managed to buy a bike, getting registration and insurance?

    Thanks

  • Sorry for not replying sooner.

I bought a bike on e-bay in San Diego.  Registered it at the address of the previous owner and as i am an American, insurance was no problem.  If you are not a American, then you have to get coverage on a specific plan for overseas people.  Readily available, but more costly than if you are a yank.

  • No worries. What is the sales tax situation with second hand bikes in Ca?

  • Sorry for the slow reply.

Didn't have to deal with sales tax in California, but the registration was expensive and had to get a full year's worth even though I was planning on leaving the country in 3 months.
